Death of Superman

Here is a pic that I started drawing on a A3 scale. Its of the death of Superman which was published in the 90's. This is only half of the pic. I wanted to get all the double page spread on A3. Its a turning point for the superman comics, so I thought I would try and re-create it. Also the new Superman film is amazing, I recommend everyone to check it out on the big screen.

Some Colour... Finally

I kept sayin I wanted to use watercolour on a pic of mine but I ended up using acrilics for this piece. It started off as just being a guy putting his armour on, then changed to being an angel type figure, then changed to an angel with the world in his hands. Deffinately want to do some more painting. Its soo good when you get into it and anybody can paint. Was mostly trail and error, I think most of it came out ok although there are some bits of this pic I want to change.

Pic for a friend

Got a friend who is a big fan of Superman (not a bigger fan than me cause I am numero uno). Thought I would show my appreciation for all the favors he has done me by drawing his fav character in the world. And to show him that DC is better than Marvel. Saying that Civil War is suprising me. The scan has come out a bit fuzzy. Hope he likes it.

My Supergirl

This is my version of the new supergirl. Most people look at me funny when they ask what comics I buy and supergirl gets mentioned. I didn't read any of the old supergirl storys but the new ones are really good. Been looking at a lot of Ed Benes art recently, that guy knows how to draw women an make em look good. I think I find it harder to draw women, usually the proportions are way out in my drawings. Something to work on...

When will it happen?

One day it will happen. One day I'll stop writting and start painting with... Watercolour. When I do not know. What I will paint I also do not know.
Drawing an A3 pic rite now and its taking ages, but I'm determined to finish it. Might post half of it up on here.

Dark knight

Batman is such a good character to draw BUT, for me its hard to capture his dark side in my pics. I try to add more shading but mess it up when I do. Gonna need alot more practice drawing him if I want a good finished result. I used the same pose Jim Lee used on the front cover of All Star Batman & Robin #3, But took out the Black Canary character. Was thinking about using some watercolour on it. Need to experiment more with colour.

Supergirl

One of my favourite new characters to the DC universe is the new Supergirl. I think the story written by Jeph Loeb was a really good begining to the series and the art work by Ian Churchill was amazing, he has the ability to make everything look amazing and capture the essence of characters. I thought I would post a pic I drew of a variant cover by Michael Turner, was thinking I might add watercolour to it, still not sure.

More Flash

Ok so I love the Flash, but Im proud of that. The actual stance and running over the water thing was from a drawing that Jim Lee designed. I tried my best to copy the stance but put the Flash in there. I was suprised with how it came out after I inked it. This is a pic where the finished inking piece looked better than the pencil, wich doesnt usually happen with my drawing. I think I usually rush inking to see what it will look like after.

Tribute to the Flash

Another Flash down in the Infinite series. Been reading Wally Wests adventures for a couple of years now. Always liked the different ways each artist showed the super speed in motion. I thought Howard Porters pencils showed it really well, and his work on the Rogues was amazing. Good news is I think Bart Allen is stepping into the fastest man alive boots.

This picture looked so much better in pencil, I need to work on inking. Instead of the obvious choice of Superman being in the middle I thought I would put the Flash in the spotlight.

Welcome

Inspired by great artists of the comic world i hope to create my own style and post my progress for others to comment on. Hoping for good feedback, but not all pieces of art are masterpieces (I plan to create one piece that I'm happy with lol).

Instead of starting with a famous quote I thought I would display a picture of a very talented artist that inspired me to draw again. This is a front cover pic for Batman # 612 drawn by the one and only Jim Lee.
